WHAT MAKES US THE SUV EXPERTS
A CENTURY IN THE MAKING
Designed as a luxury vehicle for Government officials in 1917, the Mitsubishi Model-A becomes the first Japanese mass-production car in history and paves the way for the future of all Mitsubishi Motors vehicles.
MITSUBISHI PX 33
In 1936, the Mitsubishi PX 33 was the first Japanese sedan to feature full-time four wheel drive, a technology that Mitsubishi Motors continues to evolve and reinvent, to remain at the forefront of SUV research and development activities.
MITSUBISHI INNOVATIVE VALVE TIMING ELECTRONIC CONTROL (MIVEC)
The Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) system was first introduced in 1992 and is the general name for all engines equipped with the variable valve timing mechanism developed by Mitsubishi Motors. MIVEC technology continues to evolve and features in the majority of Mitsubishi Motors' petrol, diesel and hybrid engines to provide even greater performance, lower fuel economy and low emissions.
All-Wheel Control (AWC) is a unique and highly advanced four-wheel drive technology platform, developed at the highest levels of world motorsport and first introduced in the 2001 Lancer Evolution VII. This led to the development of S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) specifically for Mitsubishi SUVs and performance vehicles. The system intelligently manages several four-wheel drive component systems to regulate torque and braking force at each wheel, allowing drivers of all abilities to confidently enjoy performance driving.
SUPER SELECT 4WD SYSTEM
First introduced in 1991 with the second generation Mitsubishi Pajero, the Super Select 4WD System offered a choice of rear wheel or four-wheel drive modes and could be changed whilst the vehicle was in motion to quickly and easily handle a wide variety of road conditions. This system has evolved into the Super Select II 4WD System, offering drivers Full-time 4WD, High and Low Range 4WD with centre differential lock and selectable 2WD modes, to provide even greater control in bad weather or on difficult surfaces.
100 YEARS OF INNOVATION
MITSUBISHI MINICA EV

The i-MiEV was launched in 2009, becoming the world's first modern highway capable mass produced electric car. It was also the first volume production all-electric vehicle available in Australia.
MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (PHEV)
Launched globally in 2012 the Outlander PHEV was the world's first Plug-in Hybrid Electric SUV. The Outlander PHEV is a ground-breaking vehicle that brings together the superior environmental performance and quietness of an EV, the stability and handling performance of a 4WD and the everyday practicalities of an SUV.
